FOR HIRE
The Mill Retreat Centre is a spectacular large centre for hire for your own private events and groups or you can join in programmes that are run throughout the year, see Events page. There are many accommodation options for groups of up to 50 people: from full board with delicious organic catering, or self catering option if you prefer, The Centre offers exceptionally good value while maintaining very high standards, please see the photos as they speak for themselves. TRAVEL DETAILS
It is surprisingly easy to reach: only 2.5 hours journey from London, we provide a private minibus pick-up from anywhere in London (or the UK) directly to the Centre. Alternatively, just take the Eurostar from St Pancras- London to Calais (59 minutes) and be picked up in Calais by our private minibus for the 90 minute journey to the Mill about two and a half hours door to door The travel cost is from £40 per person, see Directions and Maps menu for details.
We can take care of all your travel arrangements for you and your group, in our private minibus. Just give us your collection address in the UK (or France) and we will come get you. Making travel to the Mill Retreat Centre easier and cheaper, compared to most UK retreat centres.

SPECTACULAR GROUNDS AND LAKES
The Mill Retreat Centre is located in spectacular grounds. It is a natural paradise, having all four main ecological groups: 1. A huge Lake, 2. A mile of River, 3. Woodlands, 4. Wetland habitats and garden area and 30 acres of grounds, all in one location, making it teaming with wildlife. One can find: wild boar and deer in the woods, many fish in the lake, from trout to pike, over 40 specious of birds including swans, as well and many water mammals and a huge variety of plant life.
We have set up a large nature reserve in part of the grounds, here is a photo of the part of the wild marsh land, a wonderful sanctuary for birdlife:

The Mill Retreat Centre was discovered by Kolinka Zinovieff in 2007. It was very run down and dilapidated but he could see that with some loving care and hard work it could be turned into a wonderful and spetacular retreat centre, with lots of potential. The grounds looked like a one hundred year old thicket from a fairy tale: totally impenetrable, but also magical in its widlness. In 2007/2008, Kolinka commissioned a team of builders to renovate the whole Mill and transformed the place, and added a spectacular and huge wooden panelled meeting room in the attic for up to 100 people. The builders did such a brilliant job and were so friendly and worked such to a high standard. I asked one of them, Pawel Rel to stay on and live at the Mill permanently as the caretaker - his dream job come true he says. He will look after you if anything practical needs sorting or fires lighting etc.
ENVOIRNMENTAL HYDRO-ELECTRIC PROJECT 2010
"I am in the process of converting the large old Mill wheel to generate green electricity, making the centre self sufficient and carbon Positive i.e generating more energy than we use, and feeding any excess electricity back into the national grid. The project is a huge challenge and steep learning curve for us all, it will take 3 years, we are half way through now (2009). The old Mill wheel turbine is an extremely unusual and rare design. It has a vertical axis and the turbine wheel is permanently underwater. Even though it was built 130 years ago the design and efficiency of this turbine is nearly as good as modern design, give or take 10% - an extraordinary feat of the Industrial Revolution. So we are preserving it intact rather than fitting a cheaper newer design. Latest Hydro electric news please Click here

My vision for this Centre is for it to be used by groups who are doing work for the good, and hold the highest ethical standards. I think the ethos, energy and atmosphere of a place is reflected and enhanced by the type of people who use it and for this reason I strictly vet who is able to use the Mill Retreat Centre.
The Mill Retreat Centre is also home to The MLI ( Michal Levin Institute), a deeply integrated group of people who have been working together for over 15 years on inner energetic work and life. They are guided and lead by Michal Levin, an extraordinarily gifted teacher who has the rare ability to see energy with precise clarity and use this gift with wisdom and responsibility and love. I think there is only an handful of people in the world with this gift developed to such a rarefied degree. See www.michallevin.com for more information on her retreats and work.
