Directions and travel options

The Mill Retreat Centre is only a few hours drive from London.

It is very easy to get to the Mill retreat centre and below you will find a few choices to help you.

We are very happy to guide and help find the best, fastest and cheapest route to the Mill Retreat centre, and we can even organise the whole journey for you. Just give us your desired pick-up location, and our private minibus for 16 passengers can collect you from anywhere in the South East of England (or Northern France) and drive you directly to the Mill. Just give us a call and we will arrange the best route for you, and can even give you a discount off our minibus rates if you are staying for more than 3 days.

The best and easiest way to The Mill Retreat Centre is to use our private minibus to collect you from the UK or Europe.

1. Mill Retreat Centre's own private minibus:
Collection from South London direct (or anywhere in the South East of England) to The Mill Retreat Centre via Eurotunnel crossing, journey time approx 5 to 6 hours door to door (depending on traffic). Closer than many UK centres!

PLEASE NOTE: From 2019 and for the foreseeable future, we are not able to offer use of our minibus service during the months of August and November each year. This is due to lack of driver availability; we are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

2. TRAIN

London Eurostar and private minibus: 5 hrs to the Mill Retreat Centre from London

The quickest way is to take the Eurostar from St Pancras to Paris (2hrs15) and only £39 each way for group bookings.

The Mill Retreat Centre's local train station is 2 miles away and is called Aumale.

The next closest station is 10 miles away and is called Abancourt.

Depart from: Paris Nord and change at Beauvais (approx 35 miles from The Mill) then arrive Aumale station.

It is possible to be picked up by taxi at Beavais as the frequency of trains from Paris to Beauvais are high, but are less frequent from Beauvais to Aumale.

4. By Air

The Closest airport is "Paris Beauvais" http://www.aeroportbeauvais.com/ which is only 30 miles south of the Mill Retreat Centre; 55 minutes in a taxi or 1 hour approx on the train. This airport caters mainly for budget airlines.

The next closest airport is "Paris Charles de Gaulle" http://www.charlesdegaulleairport.co.uk/ which is 70 miles south of the Mill Retreat Centre; 1.5 hours drive or approx 3.5 hour on the train. This is Paris and France's main airport.

5. By car from the UK:

It is fast, and only approximately 3.5 hours from London.

The best and fastest way to travel by car is via the Eurotunnel (from Folkestone to Calais) which takes 30 minutes, please see the following link for details: www.eurotunnel.com. The cost is approximately £30 to £50.

The Mill Retreat Centre is: 100 miles due south of Calais; 75 miles north of Paris, or 35 miles East of Dieppe.

LOST: If you get lost the closest town is called Aumale and the Mill Retreat Centre is located one mile north of here. It is on the same road as the Aumale Intermarche (supermarket), just 3/4 mile further on (north), on your left on the D316 (Route treport), located behind a big farm Called "Ferme de Breteuil". You will see a small blue road sign saying "Breteuil" just next to the turning for the farm and the Mill Retreat Centre.

Online car directions:

You can get Full directions from Google Maps and then click on: Get Directions, and put the place of departure in box A: e.g Calais and in Box B: put: Breteuil 80430. This will show you the full car directions to the front door of the Mill Retreat Centre.

Brief turn by turn directions by car from Calais: approx 1 hour 30 mins

1. Take the A16/(E402) motorway (going south) sign posted to Boulogne, then Abbeville or Amiens or Rouen for 65 Miles.

2. Then Just before Abbeville take the A28 motorway (Exit 23) sign posted to Neufchatel en Bray and Rouen for 18 miles.

3. Then take exit 5 off A29 to D49 to Nestle Normandeuse and Aumale, go for 8 Miles.

4. After 8 miles turn left down a small road to join D316 SEE MAP (which runs parallel to D49). You should cross a railway line and small river; after a few hundred yards turn right onto D316. (NOTE If you pass this small turning that's fine you will then drive under a large viaduct motorway, turn left immediately after motorway and approach mill from opposite direction)

5. Then after 1 mile heading toward Aumale you should see a large walled Farm house on your left, TURN right immediately at the end of the farmhouse wall down a rough track. The Mill is located through the gate behind the farm house - you can not see it from the road.

The Mill is located 1 Mile north of Aumale.

These directions are best used with a printed map if possible.
